 August 2003 Update from the President . . .
Our EPIC DECENTRALIZATION efforts are in full swing!
As of August 1st, we have EPIC chapters in TWENTY-TWO states and THREE foreign countries. Our EPIC COORDINATORS are working hard to organize the EPIC members in their various countries/states and to come up with local, "grass roots" promotion and advertising projects.
Already we have arranged for an EPIC presence at:
- The Romantic Times Convention in Kansas City, KS, October 15-20. Carolyn Smith, (our Missouri Coordinator) Karen Woods, and C. J. Winters. Are leading the charge. Karen Woods is coordinating the twenty or so volunteers to staff our booth. Connie Winters is collecting your "freebies" to hand out at our booth. - The Florida Writers Association Conference October 24-26 in Orlando, FL. Courtney Mroch and her Florida gang will be manning an EPIC booth, passing out our brand new (and beautiful) EPIC brochure, EPIC book markers, and spreading the good news about EPIC to over FIVE HUNDRED authors and writers..
- Micqui Miller and her fellow Texas EPIC members will be staffing an EPIC booth at the TEXAS BOOK FESTIVAL, November 8-9 in Austin, TX. This is the one we had an EPIC booth at last year. An estimated 12,000-15,000 book lovers and authors flock to this event every year.
Several other projects are in the planning stage by our various EPIC chapters. If you are not already involved in the EPIC chapter forming in your area you are missing out on a great opportunity.
